- Is coding only for the super smart?
- Do you need to be great at math to write code?
- And is coding only for men?
- And what is really code?
During this talk we’ll be digging into the myths and prejudices around programming and coding and discuss why programming really is a creative superpower that really is for everyone. This is the talk for everyone that is curious about programming and are wondering if this is for you. We’ll give a quick crash course of what programming really is, what different roles there are , what you can do with code and our best tips for how to get started.
You will meet Matilda and Rebecca from Technigo, a female-founded Sweden based 22 week code and UX boot camp that yearly help hundreds of people to change career into tech roles. 80% of all those attending the boot camp are women.
Matilda will also share her own story of how she went from working at a Swedish pre-school to completely change career into programming followed by an open question and answer session where you can ask anything about code and programming. About two years ago Matilda decided that it was time for a change. With a background in working with kids she decided to do a complete change and start a career in programming – with no previous knowledge of code. She joined Technigo’s boot camp and is today working as a frontend developer and teaching the art of coding to more people.
At Technigo, we take pride in making technology and programming fun, social and approachable for everyone. We’re a female-founded, remote-first community and code and design boot camp with women accounting for more than 80% of those attending our tech programs.
Each year, we help hundreds of people change careers and start to work in tech with a 95% success rate. We’re based in Sweden but are teaching emote and have students all over Scandinavia.
